About

I’m a fourth year graduate student in physics going for my PhD.  Hopefully I won’t have to update this page to anything higher than a fifth year graduate student before that chapter of my life comes to a close.  I generally post photos I’ve taken with my excellent Nikon D40 but there are often random musings on physics, science education, finance, and politics.  You’ve been warned!

Hi: Admittedly I don’t check your site as often as I should but I’m never disappointed. As the election gets closer, I can only hope and pray (and volunteer) that an overwhelming majority of We The People vote early (where possible) and continue their support right up until the last poll closes in Hawaii. Of course who’s counting the votes continues to be of importance but it’s my understanding that months and months ago, attorneys were lined up to protect our rights (at least on the progressive side). They may be needed because it appears that Diebold STILL can’t make a voting machine that accurately records a vote and gives an accurate printout. Yet they have no problem programming millions of ATMs around the world that work without problems day in and year out.
Yesterday I saw 15 teenagers from Catlin Gable school making phone calls and putting packets together for the Obama-Biden campaign. That’s what I’m talking about – out of the classroom and into real life.
I’ll be watching as I’m sure you will. ttfn
